Open Positions

Druid of Design

We are hiring a Druid of Design (aka a Product Designer) to join the Blissfully Bookish team! This is a contract position to be paid on a per project basis. We are looking for a person who is actively involved in the book community and regularly reads Young Adult, Contemporary Romance, Adult Fantasy, and similar genres of books. 

Quick Overview: 

  • Applicants must want to directly impact the bookish world and to create merchandise they want to wear
  • The Druid of Design will work directly with and learn from Kathryn on product initiatives
  • Applicants must have the autonomy to read and/or review book(s) and develop with product ideas based on source materials
  • The Druid of Design will be responsible for 5 ideas and designs on a monthly basis with the opportunity to increase up to 10 based on availability once established

Skills & Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of graphic design experience
  • Ability to visualize a design from the ground up and see it through from concept to completion
  • Diligent in protecting against theft of other's ideas and has the ability to create completely unique products independent of bookish merchandise that already exists
  • Intermediate understanding of design principles
  • Working knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Procreate and/or Canva (or willingness to continue to expand knowledge)
  • Access to Adobe Creative Suite
  • Basic understanding of file preparation for printing such as needed file types, resolutions, color settings, etc. 
  • Ability to work within deadlines, manage time & workload independently, and accept constructive feedback on ideas & designs
  • Must be an active reader who loves to read independently and consistently

  • Must be 18 years or older to apply
  • This is a remote position and we welcome applicants from anywhere and all types of bibliophiles
  • This is a contractor position where you will be provided a 1099-NEC in accordance with federal / state laws
  • Payment will be given per design with additional product compensation provided
